Love4paws data retention policy
The objective of this policy is to allow Love4paws to manage our data efficiently and in compliance with the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) and the legislation related to this issue. The said policy provides a framework for the conservation and use of categories of personal data. Love4paws is committed to the principles of data protection contained in the GDPR, including the fact of keeping personal data only as long as it is necessary for the purposes that led to their registration.
Love4paws will save your personal data in order to process it in accordance with our privacy policy. The duration for which your data will be stored will depend on your relationship with Love4paws.
If you have never made a donation to Love4paws but have signed up for the newsletter, entered a competition to win a prize or signed a petition or participated in an online action on our websites, we will keep your personal data (a) until you let us know that you no longer wish to receive this information or (b) within 12 months of any failure to reply or open all our emails for 12 months. Love4paws will only keep your data beyond this period in the cases listed in the table below. The rental and service contracts will be kept for 12 years after their expiration.
Love4paws may keep information about your activity on our website, for statistical analysis and reporting purposes. Such information cannot be used directly, indirectly, or in conjunction with others to identify you and, therefore, are not considered “personal data” as governed by the GDPR.
If you have made a donation or expressed your interest in becoming a financial supporter of Love4paws, we will keep your personal data for six years after the date of your last interaction with us, in order to keep track of your donation, to carry out a financial audit, to comply with our statutory tax obligations, to unsubscribe from any communication from us if you ask us to do so and to produce statistical analyses and reports. After this period, your personal data will be deleted. However, your personal data may be stored beyond this if interventions are necessary for one of the purposes listed in the table below, in which case the data will remain stored for as long as it is necessary to achieve the intended purpose.

Legacies and wills | If you have informed Love4paws of your wish to make a donation to Love4paws in a bequest, your will or your life insurance contract, we will keep track of your history as a sympathizer for as long as it proves necessary, as proof in the event of a dispute concerning your testamentary wishes. |
Administration | Love4paws will keep data related to hires for employees and freelancers, for a maximum of 10 years from the end of the hiring period or the provision of services. The data on volunteers and interns will be kept for a maximum of six years from their last correspondence with us. |
Long-term projects | The contact details of the third parties concerned by Love4paws’ projects and the correspondence files to or from companies or government agencies that may contain the contact details of the representatives may be kept for as long as necessary to achieve the objectives of the project. |
